It's really easy!

You place a bid on an item.

If, at the close of the auction for that item, your bid is the lowest unique bid on that item,
you get the item for the amount you bid.

 


You see a product you like on UniqueBid.hk, a new iPod for example. You now need to think "what is the lowest possible amount I can bid that NO ONE ELSE will bid".

So, you might choose to bid $1.10 for example.

Now you can pick up your mobile phone and submit a bid by SMS to:

The Bid message is structured as

[ref code] space [bid amount]

ipod 1.10

= a bid of HK$1.10 for the iPod.

  

After your bid has been submitted, you will receive a 'Bid Acknowledgement' by return SMS.

If your bid is the lowest, and no one else placed a bid for the same amount, then your bid is the lowest unique bid!

At the end of the auction, if the lowest unique bid is still your bid, then you will be contacted. You get the BRAND NEW I-POD for only ONE DOLLAR and TEN CENTS!

Here are some details you need to know before you start bidding:

Each ‘Lot’ will have a ‘Bid’ period of between 1 week and 1 month.
Each ‘Lot’ will be assigned a 4 character reference code eg: ipod.
Certain lots will have a minimum volume of bids required.
The cost to submit an individual bid by SMS will be $5.00.
The minimum acceptable bid is $1.
Bids are accepted in increments of 10cents, viz: 1.60, 1.70, 18.20, 147.30 etc.
If the submitted bid is NOT unique, an SMS will be returned, inviting them to bid again.
As the closing date approaches, all bidders of the relevant lots will be notified of the time remaining as a reminder that they still have time to submit further bids.
In the event that there is no 'Unique Bid', then the bid with the fewest submissions will be taken as the accepted winning bid, and the subscriber who submitted that bid first will be deemed the successful bidder.
The Successful Bidders:
Successful bidders must collect their 'Lot' from the offices of Go Telecom Ltd, with proof of identity by producing their HKID Card and their last mobile phone bill indicating that the winning bid was submitted from their phone.
